About Janet

Janet grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma, moving to Oklahoma City in her early 30s to work for the State Legislature as well as other state agencies and to go to law school. She relocated to Boulder, Colorado in February 1988.

Janet’s passion is helping others understand and know that there is a way for all of us through life’s pain, suffering, traumas, and addictions. She teaches that you are not alone in your pain, whether physical or mental or emotional. After breaking her back in 2017 in a skiing accident, she has focused on Yin Yoga and Yoga Nidra to reconnect to and heal her mind and body. She shares her healing experiences and knowledge with her Yin students.

Janet explores different breathing techniques and relaxed Yin postures as well as Yoga Nidra. She seeks ways to lessen the pain that is inevitable as we move through our Yang lives. She shares her personal journey and what she has learned along the way in her Yin Yoga classes.

Janet has practiced a form of Yoga on and off throughout her life, including Hot Yoga for 15 years and Yin Yoga for the past 7 years. Upon retiring from the practice of law, she became certified to teach Yin Yoga and Yoga Nidra. Since 1996, she also is a Reiki Master. Her guidance in class combined with her unending journey of learning and her experience with physical pain and life’s traumas adds credibility to her teachings.
